TEASER
The sellers of this fine Viking Motor Yacht have fixed her up for extended cruising with long term live-aboard accommodations. Some of her features include bow and stern thrusters with remote, stabilizers, and a water maker just to name a few. She is set up for single handed cruising and it?s not unusual for the owner to take her out for seven to ten days alone, summer or winter. Please click on ?Full Specs? and read over the complete ad. You will then see that this is the best equipped 55 on the market with over $180,000 worth of upgrades during the last two years, not including labor. The owner has also indicated he would consider a trade for a smaller vessel.
DESCRIPTION
It has been a real joy knowing the owner of this Viking for the last several years. I have traveled with him thru many locks and inland water ways. I have been with him as the Viking sliced thru breakers on the Chesapeake Bay. I have also slept in her beds. During his time of ownership the owner has been completely focused on giving the Viking what it needed to be an outstanding vessel in her size range. He has accomplished just that. With bow and stern thrusters it is real easy to stand on the gunnel with the remote and walk the vessel into her dock. Out in the rough water the stabilizers remove the roll and give a comfortable ride. The navigation package is awesome and fun to use. The 400 gpd water maker has an ultra violet bacteria system and then the water goes thru 20 micron filters and a charcoal filter. Everything was researched to provide the best for the ship and her guests on board. Regardless of where the owner saw a problem or the beginning of a problem, he fixed it properly. If this vessel will fit your cruising or live-aboard dreams, you should really check her out.

ELECTRICAL
The owner of this vessel wanted a boat he could leave in the water and use during Maryland winters. Reverse cycle heating and AC units are not efficient when the water temperature drops below 40 degrees. To accomplish his goal of being able to boat year round, auxiliary Cruise Air heating units were added to the vessel. Five 2,000 watt units and one 4,000 watt unit was added to the system. One of the 2,000 watt units heats the engine room. Duck work was added throughout the vessel with outlets in closets and cupboards keeping the vessel warm and mildew free. Venting was even added under the floors to keep all domestic water from freezing. The vessel easily stays at 72 degrees when it drops to 10 degrees outside. During the winter of 2003 ? 2004 the owners were doing extensive remodeling to their home. They lived on the Viking from Dec 2003 to April 2004 and were comfortable all the time.

ELECTRONICS
The dash console on all 55? Vikings was poorly laid out making it difficult to see the screens of your instruments when they were facing the ceiling rather than the captain. After spending time at the helm of his vessel, the owner started coming up with a plan to modify the complete helm console. Old electronics were taken out and disguarded, the old helm console was also removed. A new helm console was then made to fit the same area as the old console. The difference was the forward section of the new custom made console was dropped down allowing the navigation screens to face the captain. As this was being done the vessel received updated navigation including Capn software which is the only Coast Guard approved navigation software. All other gages and instrument controls were then reinstalled into the new helm console.
All electronics are interfaced to allow the computer with Capn Software to drive the vessel.
